Prior knowledge in finance is not essential to join SIB. Interested candidates can come from a range of backgrounds and will typically be:

Undergrads

Other working professionals

Since you're here it is perhaps safe to assume that you aspire for a career in Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Equity Research or Private Equity. Lets call it “Option 1”.

But more importantly, in the pursuit of Option 1 are you willing to do whatever it takes to break in and then move up and rise through the ranks? Is that you?

Relentless, determined and unwilling to compromise on your aspirations and settle for Options 3, 4 and 5? Then perhaps you could be a good fit for SIB's flagship Investment Banking Immersive

SARFRAZ SOHANI | Pre SIB: BMS, Bhavan's College | Post SIB: Analyst, Goldman Sachs

“I am working in a bulge bracket US Investment Bank doing the same investment banking work that is done by MBAs, and this has been possible only because of the course at SIB.”

How it Works?

Your path to becoming an investment banking analyst

Through our blended learning approach - access to online content followed by 4 weeks of intense online training delivered live via webinars, students learn to think and analyse like Analysts.

Ultimately, entry level analysts hired from SIB can hit the ground running from Day 1 as opposed to Day 90. That’s why top recruiters hire from us…regularly!

PRE-WORK

While no prior knowledge or experience is needed, we require students to complete our online Mid Cap Bundle before the 4 week training begins. This pre-work ensures students are well prepared and able to keep pace with the class.

Our Mid Cap Bundle has a run time of approximately 15 hours and covers the following carefully crafted courses that form a key part of an Analyst’s knowledge base:

Intro to Accounting

Advanced Accounting

Trading Comps

Discounted Cash Flow

Financial Modeling

Transaction Comps

In-Class Training

This is the "taught" phase of the Program and runs for 4 weeks (20 days). Training is delivered by our instructors online via live webinars and is accessible from any location. Participants will be expected to have completed all courses in the Mid Cap Bundle before the taught phase begins.

SIB’s Investment Banking immersive moves at a swift pace and participants will be expected to demonstrate a great deal of maturity and drive. The emphasis during the taught phase will be on revision and consolidation of concepts covered during pre-work.

Don’t forget, that you need to score a minimum of 60% on all assessments to qualify for placements.

Placements

We leverage our network to set up recruiter interviews. These are some of the most competitive and sought after jobs to break into, so placements can take time.

Your own merit is key in being able to convert an interview into a job offer

content & outline

Delivering skills that matter to recruiters

Our training material is concise, to the point and hits the nail on the head. We’re not interested in giving you the A to Z of finance. You can read a text book for that.

Our aim is to get you “job ready” for an entry level role in core finance job profiles that utilise the skills provided on the Program.

We deliver world class practical skills and leverage our network to set up recruiter interviews. That was more than good enough for our alumni who are working with top tier firms across New York, London, Johannesburg, Dubai, Mumbai, Delhi, Singapore, Hong Kong & Sydney.

Job Placements

In a league of its own

Education providers need to do a lot more than merely provide industry relevant skills. Today more than ever before, learners need the means to be able to use knowledge gained and transform their lives with an opportunity to earn.

That’s why we have fought the most difficult battles for students to deliver world class and unparalleled job placements in Investment Banking. It is indeed humbling to note that SIB has delivered in only a few weeks, where academic degrees from top tier universities and the most prestigious professional qualifications have failed.

Candidates who have successfully completed our Immersive Investment Banking Program usually get interview opportunities with leading recruiters.

Our placement track record below speaks for itself. Please note that we DO NOT guarantee placements.

Learners must secure a minimum of 60% on all assessments to qualify for placements.

Whilst we leverage our network to set up recruiter interviews on a best efforts basis, we encourage you to apply for jobs on your own as well.

FAQs

At SIB, we believe in a stakeholder approach where the growth of our Institute is dependent on the growth of our candidates and vice versa. Such principles make it critical to attract the best talent with an appreciation for both the cultural and operational dynamics of the finance industry.

Admissions to SIB can only be confirmed after an interview which  involves preparing a few simple case studies.

You don’t need any technical knowledge to succeed on these case studies. We are looking for some crucial skills that are necessary to succeed in the professional world and on SIB’s Programs such as:

Application and aptitude

Ability to figure things out

Analytical skills

Original thought

Overall, it should not take you more than 3-4 hours to prepare for these case studies.

Candidates are typically placed as entry level analysts in job profiles that utilise the core skills we provide on our Programs such as basic research, fundamental analysis, company valuation, financial modelling, report writing, preparation of pitch books etc. These are highly sought after and some of the most competitive jobs to break into. A career in these job profiles is both intellectually stimulating and financially rewarding.

Prework: You need to complete the online course diligently before the “taught phase” begins

If you haven't this will impact your performance on the course and eventually on placements as well

Tune-In: We have been transforming careers since 2007 and have a very deep insight into what recruiters are looking for. So tune in to the instructions we give you and play close attention.

Reading: If you haven’t picked up the business press yet, it is time to make a start. Interview success depends on it

We want to encourage and provide a platform to all learners to the best extent possible. If you are a penultimate year student in the UK (irrespective of your stream), then this is what your game plan should be:

Go through our Immersive in summer 2019. Investment at admissions £ 2,000 + VAT

Go back to University and complete your final year

We encourage you to apply for various Graduate schemes and having completed our training, you will be in a strong position to convert your interviews

If you manage to secure your own placement, then you do not have to pay the second instalment

In case you don’t have a job offer upon graduation, do not worry

This is when we will begin to fight for you. The first role will probably be an internship

Candidates who secure 60% on assessments and complete the program successfully will be awarded a SIB completion certificate. Having said that, we encourage candidates to rise above the mind set of “collecting” certificates. What matters is that top Investment Banking, Corporate Finance or Equity Research recruiters hire from SIB regularly. That in itself is the best certification there could be!
Taking the first step is always the most difficult part. Though it is always our endeavour to secure a full time role, an internship is usually a stepping stone to a full time role and is a more realistic outcome.
